Bartın University, Bartın Vocational School, Social Security Programme was opened in 2019-2020 academic year. Being in the first place the interdisciplinary theoretical courses given in the fields of work and social security, finance and social services, students are expected to adapt to the labor market through compulsory internships in public institutions and organizations or private sector. Students will be able to benefit from the knowledge and experience of expert staff with the support of relevant institutions, particularly the Bartın Provincial Directorate of Social Security. The graduates of the program are the Social Security Professionals. |
Purpose of Department |

The primary aim of Bartın University Bartın Vocational School Social Security Programme is to train qualified intermediate staff for employment in public and private sector, especially in the field of social security. The secondary objective of the program is to take courses appropriate for undergraduate programs that students may wish to external transfer to. |
Admission Requirements |

Prospective students are placed by the Higher Education Council Student Selection And Placement Center (ÖSYM) with their high school diploma and their score of Exam of Higher Education Institutions (YKS). |
Graduation Requirements |
: |
Students who successfully passes the compulsory courses and minimum number of elective courses specified in the course plan, have at least 120 credits and have an average of 2.00/4.00 can graduate. |
Transition to higher level |
: |
The students who graduate from the Social Security Programme, can continue to the undergraduate programmes of Labor Economics and Industrial Relationship, Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Insurance and Social Security and Social Services if they passes the External Transfer Exam (DGS) which is prepared by Higher Education Council Student Selection And Placement Center (ÖSYM). |

Graduates of Social Security Programme can be employed in public sector in the Social Security Institution (SGK), the relevant institution of Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Services, and in private sector such as Human Resources Department, Personnel Department as professional staff; and can work as consultants in offices providing consultancy services on the subject and open their own offices. |

Examinations, assessment and evaluation are conducted in accordance with “Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education Examination Regulations” of Bartın University. |

Qualification Requirements and Rules |

In order to graduate, students of Social Security Programme have to reach at least 2.00 Cumulative Grade Point Average out of 4.00 and be successful at least DD from all the courses envisaged in the curriculum. Students are required to complete their compulsory internship within the specified period. The minimum ECTS for graduation is 120. |
